    Color Me Confused

Crawford (Stanley Bennett Clay) comes to Sharkey about a Dear John letter from his girl, Holly, saying its over. After seeing her picture and thinking she's ugly, Sharkey advises Crawford to write Holly a letter dated a week before, as if breaking up was his idea. Sharkey says he'll write and type the letter for him. Robinson sees the torn picture of Holly and the breakup letter on Sharkey's typewriter and is pleasantly shocked he'd romance someone of another color. He arranges a double blind date with Sharkey at the Ship Ahoy bar with a black girl named Audrey (Beverly Hope Atkinson). Sharkey is comically in a continual state of confusion at the situation and lively plans to go to the Disco Cave.

My, how America has become so sensitive that the comedic style of Don Rickles could never air right now. Each episode is packed with ethnic slurs or remarks that many would find offensive- social media campaigns to "boycott", run wild and burn down and loot again, etc. Yet, the comical racists remarks are met with comical situations where he's shown he's wrong. If people can relearn to think for themselves, I think that's the best hope for unity- for race, for political affiliation, etc. Not to say that solves all the problems, but to narrow the gap by having each side lightheartedly poking fun at one another in a show that makes everyone laugh together and realize we're not as different as we're being told.
