Dune: Part Two

10/10

Pinnacle of the movie going experience

I am not a person that goes to the movies. I much prefer the comfort of my own home and my own amenities. After watching, the admittedly slow but large in scale, first film of this adaptation, my wife and I were convinced that we MUST see the follow-up in theaters. We were not disappointed.

This movie made me feel the way people from the era of Star Wars describe what it was like to see the original trilogy in theaters. I spent the majority of the movie awestruck with my mouth agape.

People will formulate their own opinions about the content of the film versus the book, but simply as an in-theater experience. This film is nearly flawless in every imaginable way. The sounds can be both subtle and booming, the visuals are breathtaking in nearly every single scene, the special effects are absolutely top notch and the acting is stellar AT WORST.

I do NOT typically enjoy paying too much for snacks and being stuck in a moderately comfy seat for hours on end, but this is a movie worth giving up any comfort you might have at home to see in a theater. Do yourself a favor and see it.
