    Different Eureka, Same Day

A New World brings us our half-dozen time travelers struggling to understand their new reality and dealing with a crisis seemingly related to surges in power. Henry is perplexed but the most cautiously accepting of his new-found relationship. Carter is frustrated but quite unwilling to follow his heart (no real change there). Jo is in mourning for what she has lost personally but with a growing appreciation for what she has gained professionally. The happiest of all are Fargo and Allison: Fargo's ego has seemingly reached a platform its professional apex and Allison is simply happy, as her familial relationships in new Eureka are the things of her dreams from Eureka of old. New-be Grant is equally maddening and delightfully hysterical to watch - his fascination with all the science-elements that make up Eureka are a welcomed. We still have the chemistry-less Tess from season three to contend with, apparently time-travel didn't improve that story element, but since Allison and Carter finally seem to have finally acknowledged their feelings for one another, perhaps that spark-filled story arc can get back on track.

    • Goofs
The beginning of this episode recounts the ending of the series premiere, "Founders Day," but many things are different in this recap than what actually happened in the previous episode. In the premiere, Fargo says "Archimedes used to be granite," whereas in the recap he says, "Isn't that supposed to be made of granite?" In "Founders Day," after Tess walks up to Carter to greet him, she kisses him twice and says, "I thought you'd never get here." She later walks away and asks, "Can I get you a drink?" to which Carter replies, "Yes, please," after which Tess walks away into the kitchen. In "Founders Day," however, after Tess walks up to Carter to greet him, she kisses him only once and says, "I thought you'd never get home." Later, instead of offering Carter a drink and walking away, she starts lacing up her boots while Carter says "You're not in Australia."
