In the 1986G time-line (Citizen Brown's Hill Valley) the McFly's driveway very distinctly features tyre marks from a vehicle with thick tyres and a wide drivetrain (such as a 1980's 4x4). However, in this time-line, the only vehicles used are golf caddy's, which are very narrow and have thinner tyres. Even Citizen Brown's limo is simply an elongated, boxed off caddy, meaning no one in Hill Valley owns a vehicle that could've made those tracks. Dialogue also indicates that the Brown's have been in power since at least 1955 so there is no overlap in which a vehicle with those specifications could have been present.

Whilst Carl Sagan was known during the 1970's and 80's, the book 'billions and billions' was not published until 1997, whereas the present for Citizen Brown is 1986 and the book would not be published for another 11 years, meaning he should have no knowledge of the book as he is not a time traveler in that time-line.
