Teresa Lisbon: Where is Mrs. Dublin?
Kimball Cho: Yeah, she cries a lot. Then she has to freshen her makeup. Then she cries again. Sort of a cycle.

Teresa Lisbon: What the Hell was that? Are you insane? And where did you come up with that stupid ass diamond theory?
Patrick Jane: I don't know what came over me. I see that man, I get an immediate urge to wind him up.
Teresa Lisbon: He's the Director!
Patrick Jane: I'm sorry. He amuses me.

Teresa Lisbon: I promise, I will never lie to you again. I lied this *one* time because I'm concerned. You're isolating yourself. You're pulling away from us, from me and the unit. You are! It's not good. What's going on.
Patrick Jane: Anybody that gets close to me, bad things happen to them.
Teresa Lisbon: "A" that's not true. And "B" even if it were, I'm a cop. It's our job to be harm's way.
Patrick Jane: You're not listening to me.
Teresa Lisbon: We're family! What you're doing is a kind of betrayal. A surrender. A defeat. You're letting Red John win!

Patrick Jane: Don't ever do that again.
Drew Yost: [Drew chuckles] Or else what?
Patrick Jane: You ever smell a dead mouse? You remember that smell?
Drew Yost: Yes.
Patrick Jane: Well, I just now put a dead mouse in your jacket pocket, and no matter how many times you clean that jacket, you will always smell that dead mouse. And you will remember that you should *never* put your hands on me.
Drew Yost: [Drew violently removes his jacket and throws it to the ground] Son of a bitch!
Patrick Jane: It's actually just a waded up napkin. But, uh, has the same psychological effect. Human mind's funny that way.
[to Betram]
Patrick Jane: Good to meet you sir. Sorry Lisbon.
[Jane leaves]
Teresa Lisbon: He had a rough summer.

Patrick Jane: Well why don't we just give it to the FBI, they love that stuff.
Teresa Lisbon: Oh I wish, it's too late, the new boss is here doing it on camera as it's our baby.
Patrick Jane: The new boss? I thought Hightower was boss...
Teresa Lisbon: And the boss of Hightower, the director of the entire division... I told you about him last week. Your memory's goin...
Patrick Jane: My memory is a mighty fortress Lisbon, from which, no fact ever escapes once committed. Now when you tell me boring things, I set 'em free immediately. Saves overcrowding.

Patrick Jane: I'm glad to see you're finally learning a few things. Of course, now I shall have my revenge.
Teresa Lisbon: What do you mean?
Patrick Jane: Ah.
[Jane chuckles]

Teresa Lisbon: [after Jane whispers sometime to a reporter] What did you tell her?
Patrick Jane: I was complimenting her on her jacket. It's such a vivid color.
Teresa Lisbon: Liar.
Patrick Jane: You're gonna call me a liar?
Teresa Lisbon: Oh, I hate you. I do.
Patrick Jane: Oh, mm-mm.

Teresa Lisbon: How do you think the director is going to feel when he finds out you fooled him into talking complete garbage on TV?
Patrick Jane: It's not garbage. He'll be very angry or very happy, depending on whether I'm right or not.
Teresa Lisbon: Right about what? There is no diamond... ah, I see: a trap. Very clever.
Patrick Jane: Hmm.
Teresa Lisbon: A trap for who?
Patrick Jane: Guess.
Teresa Lisbon: Just tell me!
Patrick Jane: Guess.
Teresa Lisbon: You know what, screw you! You crossed a line already and now you're playing guessing games with me?
Patrick Jane: No, it's just that I'm not quite sure myself. I do have a plan though.
Teresa Lisbon: Oh, sheep-dip! You're still trying to punish me for lying to you. Well you know what? I'm sorry. Sorry. You wanted off this case, you're off. Go take a nap in your little thinking room. We'll solve this case without you, the right way. With good solid detective work.
[storms off]
Patrick Jane: So I take it you don't want to hear my plan?
[mimicking Lisbon]
Patrick Jane: No, I don't wanna hear your plan... sheep-dip your plan.

Madeleine Hightower: Betram's all bottom line. He won't let personal issues intrude. Jane's the best asset we have. And Betram knows that.
Teresa Lisbon: But *Jane* doesn't want to be on the case.
Madeleine Hightower: Change his mind! I'm not going to tell Betram we can't control our own people.
Teresa Lisbon: ...I have an idea as to how to presuade him, but it's kind of unethical.
Madeleine Hightower: I don't want to know.

Teresa Lisbon: We're family! What you're doing is a kind of betrayal, a surrender, a defeat. You're letting Red John win!
Patrick Jane: Oh please. Please, really? Okay enough. All right. No more pulling away. All right? Here, give me a hug.
Teresa Lisbon: You don't mean it. I can tell.
Patrick Jane: What do you mean? You can't tell. I don't mean it, but you can't tell that I don't. You're guessing.
Teresa Lisbon: Yes, I can tell.
Patrick Jane: How?
Teresa Lisbon: I don't know. I can tell when you're lying.
Patrick Jane: You can't.
Teresa Lisbon: I can too.
Patrick Jane: That' nonsense. You're lying. Liar, liar pants on fire.
Teresa Lisbon: I'm not lying.
Patrick Jane: You are.
