great short included on "Justice League :Crisis on Two Earths"
i really enjoyed this little gem which is included as a bonus on the Justice League:Crisis on Two Earths DVD:it's basically a sort of a film noir type mystery.it's only about 11 minutes or so,but it gives you a brief idea of who The Spectre is,if you're not already familiar with the character.this short film is a good way to introduce the character, and to gauge fan interest,as he is what could be considered a fringe character.i believe the character could probably do justice to a full length feature and hope that DC has that as one of their goals in the future.regardless,i really enjoyed seeing The Spectre on the screen, even briefly.for me,DC Showcase: The Spectre is an 8/10
Really want this character to be in main league
The plot was okay according to short story but really want the spectre on main league in theaters with a proper long story. Loved the character.
DC Showcase: The Spectre
One of the DC Showcases filled with mystery and intrigue, always leaving you wondering what will happen next. The Spectre presents itself and leaves you wanting to see more, with a quite interesting premise that deserves a chance. Definitely, Joaquim Dos Santos is a master of good stories and strong character performances; the director has the skill to elevate an antihero to glory in just a few minutes. All of this without adding their origin and the reason for their actions. Brilliant.
If you're a fan of this character or at least know who they are in the DC world, you'll have a great time. Jim Corrigan is quite a character. His seriousness and the way he ties up loose ends is sublime.
The animation is very good, with a contrast and color tone that speaks for itself. In addition to adding that element of mystery and suspense in many of its scenes, giving that dark tone that connects even more with the viewer. The character design is quite nice, and above all, they have a justified development. There is no doubt that they are 13 glorious minutes.
The short film has countless references to great movies, such as The Exorcist, King Kong, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Dracula, Wolfman, Dead Silence, among others. It is a stroke of genius, even if it's just for a few seconds.
The Spectre is synonymous with justice without mercy, vengeance, and divine power. An interesting character that deserves more adaptations for the big screen. Nevertheless, it is a great example of settling accounts and maintaining balance.

My favorite short story in this DC Showcase collection
The Spectre (2010) is the second of four DC Showcase films on a DVD titled Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam. The plot centers around a spirit serving a human detective by day and transforming into a vigilante by night. When a famous actor dies, both the detective and The Spectre take on the case.
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse), the film features the voices of Gary Cole (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby), Alyssa Milano (Commando), Robert Paulsen (Pinky and the Brain), and Jon Polito (The Crow).
This easily stands out as my favorite short story in this DC Showcase collection. The film's grindhouse feel and creepy horror elements are amazing and are complemented by an impressive storyline filled with enjoyable twists and turns. There's a Constantine vibe to this, and this short could have easily expanded into a full-length feature film. I'd give it an 8/10 and strongly recommend it.

Awesome horror/vigilante/police animated short film
Very beautiful animation in this short film about DC's undead vigilante. It mixes genres in its 10-minute length: horror, police, superhero, vingança. I loved the colors, and the horror vendetta story works.
