In this episode, (which introduces the Heck family basement) the stairway entrance, is located through a doorway, immediately to the left once one enters the back door foyer/pantry room. (just past the stove) In all following episodes, the basement door to the left in this episode, is then replaced by the pantry, The basement door is then seen on the right where the pantry had been.
