Kate Beckett: [reminiscing about Royce] I was so in awe of him, Castle. When I first met him. I just hung on his every word. And then later I realized he was just making up stories to mess with me.
[Castle smiles and Beckett laughs to herself]
Kate Beckett: [quietly] I can't believe that I'm never gonna see him again.
Richard Castle: Do you know what I thought when I first met you?
Kate Beckett: Hmm.
Richard Castle: That you were a mystery I was never gonna solve. Even now, after spending all this time with you, I'm... I'm still amazed. At the depths of your strength, your heart.
[Beckett half-smiles]
Richard Castle: And your hotness.
Kate Beckett: You're not so bad yourself, Castle.

Richard Castle: Wow! Somebody's up early.
Kate Beckett: Hey.
Richard Castle: What did you pack, a murder board?
Kate Beckett: Concierge. Called down and then ten minutes later, voila.
Richard Castle: Maurice is amazing, isn't he? I bet if I ordered the Ark of the Covenant, he'd come through.
Kate Beckett: Um, wouldn't you be afraid to open it?
Richard Castle: No, it only melts Nazis.

Richard Castle: [Beckett's training officer has been murdered] Come on, Kate. You don't want to remember him like this.
Kate Beckett: Castle, if it was me lying there, would you just walk away?

Lanie Parish: I'm so sorry, honey.
Kate Beckett: Just tell me what happened.
Lanie Parish: He was shot in the leg. Judging from the blood trail, I'd say the bullet broke the bone. He tried to hide, but... I found this in his pocket.
[hands over an airline ticket]
Lanie Parish: He just flew in from Los Angeles this afternoon.
Richard Castle: What was he doing in L.A.?
Kate Beckett: I heard he moved there after he lost his bounty hunter's license. I guess he was trying to make a fresh start.
Richard Castle: When was the last time you spoke to him?
Kate Beckett: [pause] When I arrested him.

Javier Esposito: Yo. You were right about the silencer. The lab found trace amounts of titanium alloy in the threads. They've narrowed it down to one of two commercial suppressors. Both run about a grand.
Richard Castle: Why put an expensive silencer on a cheap gun?
Kate Beckett: Because... our killer followed Royce from L.A. and couldn't bring his own gun on the plane.
Richard Castle: But a silencer is just a cylinder. It could easily be hidden in a checked bag.

Richard Castle: [sharing his hotel suite with Beckett] Would you like to choose your room?
Kate Beckett: No. I'd like to start the investigation.
Richard Castle: We haven't even ordered room service yet.
Kate Beckett: Castle, I'm not here for room service. I'm here for justice.
Richard Castle: [as Beckett leaves] Wow. In L.A. for all of a minute and already she's spouting cheesy movie dialogue.

Kate Beckett: [the actors playing the Nikki Heat characters based on Ryan and Esposito look exactly like their inspiration] That is just creepy.
Richard Castle: Totally.

Richard Castle: So, what happened?
[Beckett sharply pokes him in the chest]
Richard Castle: Ow!
Kate Beckett: I was trying to keep him from seeing you, and so I pushed too hard and he made me.
[pokes Castle again]
Kate Beckett: He called me green, Castle. What the hell were you doing?
Richard Castle: I saw his phone in the cabana. I thought it was worth the risk.
Kate Beckett: You took his phone?
Richard Castle: No! No, I took a photo of his recent call list.
Kate Beckett: What? Where is it?
Richard Castle: Don't... don't poke me.
Kate Beckett: [Castle hands his phone over] Poke you? I wanna kiss you.
