Prior to its launch, it was believed that Bhaskar Bharti was a TV adaptation of the 2005 Hindi film Mr Ya Miss (2005). However, that was not the case, as it is actually a Hindi adaptation of the popular Argentine comedy show Lalola (2007) in which a man turns into a woman as a result of being cursed by one of his love interests.
