Les Pennac(s)

In English, the title is Family Cases, and the series is a mixture of light comedy and serious mystery. The three main characters are first, Hannibal Pennac, the father of Annabelle Pennac, estranged daughter. Hanni is more of a loveable scoundrel who doesn't mind "bending" the rules to achieve an arrest. Annabelle is a by-the-rules cop who suffers from dyslexia but has an ability to visually put the clues together. And Brigadier Sonia Ayed, who is the supervisor of the Department, has a back story with Hanni.

The cast works well together including the actors who play Annabelle's children. As the series plays out, Hanni and Annabelle improve their relationship, and there is a possibility that father and daughter will find a romantic partner.

My wife and I enjoyed watching as supporting cast is excellent and really help out as the various murders are investigated. There is only one downside to the series: the last episode of series one ends on one of the better cliffhangers of any series, but . . .. If you can handle reading subtitles in English, then you can find it running on MHz.
