It's totally not honest and real. Even so, I think, none of these "brides" are real, just actresses with the whole relatives.
My Daughter who is 25 now watched this with her grandmother, friends and myself her father. Her Mother passed when she was 4 so thiscshow has helped her plan. Definitely taught me to keep my mouth shut and not project my wishes onto a wedding. So many Mother's wanting what they would want. IT IS NOT YOUR WEDDING SHUT UP! Sure repeat and contribute respectfully. I got on here to see if I could goto the Bridal Store where Montey is at, he has his own Hair Salon. Would not be practical to drive 8 hours there and back for that the day before a wedding. I wanted to treat her to a pre-purchase of a gown and to experience the show she has watched and watched. Such an informative show. We can (and do) rewatch the shows. She just moved out and when we would send time together it almostly always incorporate at least 3 or 4 shows. She is still gathering information. Thank you Say "YES" to the Dress cast, Producers and Crew.
I love this show. Monte and Lori are fabulous. The funny thing is, I am always mad when I watch it because of the way some of the people act (I hope they are actors and not real people). Some of them are just cruel to be cruel. Many of them would wind up not being the in wedding at all, might be invited as a a guest, and would certainly not be considered a friend after all that. I am ask for an opinion but ultimately, it would be my way or the highway. Which is also why if I ever do get married, I'm going to City Hall! No muss, no fuss. Wear what you want, come or don't come. It's my day! Too bad!
My sister was getting married in April of last year, to get ready for the big day we ended up stumbling on the main show "say yes to the dress" and then the atlanta version of it.
I have been following it since and every now and then would binge on older episodes.
Is it a perfect show? nope, you don't need a $10,000+ dress to be the "perfect bride". You can pick apart the show for being superficial or selling generic dresses as masterpieces but you know what that's in the title, it's telling you what's it about from just the title so move past that.
There is a general niceness to the Atlanta version that's missing from the main show, you can see Lori and the staff trying hard to bottle their frustration and try their best to be "publicly polite" as my aunt puts it. even the cattiness is more fun then mean spirited or an attempt to create cheap drama (again like the main show)
Lori is a joy to watch, the sales people all trying hard and most of the customers are either charming or fun to watch.
The show's one draw back is Monte, the words trying too hard are all but stamped on his forehead...

My Granddaughter, (who is 7) & I often watch this - betting on which dress the bride will pick - it's so much fun to do this with her. But the episode called Gone With the Wind was disgusting. That foul mouthed Stacy who wanted to have a biker wedding dress was a foul mouthed cow! We had to stop watching this episode because I didn't know how many more times she would use the word Bitch! Once was to many!! Sassy? No, she lacked class! I can't believe such a great wholesome program would allow that, very disappointed that I will have to preview the episodes before we can watch them together I am not a prude & have probably used that same word before BUT not in front of my Grandchildren & certainly never would on a program like Say Yes to the Dress!!!!
