Here's another installment in the Rank organization's series of occasional shorts under the umbrella title of "Look at Life". It starts with an acknowledgment of a proposed major renovation in Picadilly Circus -- one that was later rejected. It then offers a look at the structure of the Circus, how it's a crossroads not just for the people who come to look at the statue of Eros. There are four lines of the London Underground in the station below; two sewer lines cross; and so do an assortment of utilities.
The people come in waves: the morning crowds getting off to work in the area; the noontime people, pausing to eat lunch; the evening crowds yearning to get home; and the night people, out for a night on the town and the people who serve them.
I see DOCTOR ZHIVAGO is playing at the big theater.
