The Survival Games is an entertaining movie with an interesting plot. The cast was well chosen. The campers are looking for a weekend of fun. One couple is starting a new relationship and the other is years into their marriage that has lost its sparkle. When they find themselves being hunted, they create a bond that defines their feelings for each other. There were plenty of action scenes with fist fights and gun fights. The filming was quite good and the scenery was beautiful. The brutal opening scene set the tone and it never lets up. The campers are up for the challenge with their quick wit and formidable fighting skills. I have seen the movie several times and enjoy it just as much each time.
I thought this movie was watchable.. I have watched it at least 3 times and something new pops up every time that I did not catch before. Set it the back woods of Nebraska with stunning cinema photography and OK acting by the 2 leads and sexual tension with the 2 supporting good guys.. The bad guys where believable.. The ending is unexpected so that gives it a pop.. Although the beginning of the film is slow, it picks up near the middle.. Non stop action and mystery with the geocache theme added in with great special effects. Its not a family film for kids, but enjoyable for adults . I don't want to give any spoilers away here so go see it for yourself.
I absolutely hated this movie, the standoffs were awkward even though I'm sitting at home (I rented this on DVD). Plus I got so bored while watching this that I got onto my computer, played games, and it was only thirty minutes into the movie.
To be honest, I am writing this as I the movie is still playing. My sister is playing games on her computer, my mom is playing games on her's and my dad is just sitting there. He's the only one watching it for Pete's sake.
The acting is okay, better than most films that are made by new(ish) directors. I like the setting though, it makes it hard to screw up continuity for locations. The editing isn't that bad either. Now I'm just giving pity on this poor movie.

If you happen to find yourself all alone in a post-apocalyptic world and you find a TV, a DVD player, and this is the only movie left because every other film in the world has been destroyed...then find something better to do (like counting the grains of sand on the beach) because you will still regret watching this disaster.
I won't give any details away, but the characters just don't act like any normal person would act in the given situations. The central plot idea isn't that bad. I mean a group of people being hunted in the woods could certainly lead to an entertaining movie. But the execution is just plain bad. Ordinary, somewhat dorky people turn into action stars even though they do so many dumb things in the process. And the dialogue is excruciating at times. I cannot fathom how anyone could rate this movie higher than a 1.

Firstly, this movie has really bad acting from all the actor and actress. The story line is just lame and such a boring show which really put you to sleep after 15 minutes.
From the get go this movie is awful the title sequence looks like a 5yr old attempt to copy any one of a 100 better made movies, the effects are poor the script is terrible.
Awful movie I would actually give it zero stars if I could.
You might enjoy this movie if you like watching really bad movies and can provide your own commentary. Or perhaps you could play a drinking game and take a shot every time someone's gives a bad comment. Whatever you do, don't take this movie seriously or you will be disappointed.
