    Not so good....

Well, I've seen this movie because it's about an event that happened in my country, (Uruguay) and am very fond of football. 1) It looks like if the championship took place anyplace, except in my country. To me it seems to be Mexico, not Uruguay at all. 2) I know the Estadio Centenario very well, it's a world football monument, and the capacity of the stadium wasn't as big as it seems in the picture, what is shown on the movie is the actual capacity, not the one when in was founded, in 1930. 3)A tremendous mistake : Remember it was 1930, and it's shown a plasma or LSD flat TV showing a game between Peñarol(Uruguay) and Santos(Brazil) that took place in 2011 and the famous Neymar was on it. 4) A don't complain about the plot , the actors, the director or the technical details of the film, but the errors are so big , that spoiled the whole thing .It would have been much better if the people involved in the movie would have taken more time to inform themselves of the country, the habits, (the Brazilian fans are shown as if they were Indians from the Amazon), the food we consume, etc. Ours is a beautiful country, why didn't they did it in situ ? Really disappointing

Excellent movie which you need to watch

This is an excellent movie, with great story, great camera, great acting.... One more thing this is second part of th movie Montevideo - God Bless you, When I was looking for this movie on this site I just sawed review from ex Yugoslavia's republic called Bosnia and Herzegovina and in every single thing these people form Bosnia (Islamic part of Bosnia) are writing things that has nothing with movie, they write about politics and religious views an in a matter of a fact this film has nothing to do with it and its true story what happened what you can easily find evidence in a 1 minute. In first part of film in that time 1930 was Yugoslavian Kingdom and Croatian players didn't want to play on this world cup and that is a fact that only Serbian players actually did play on this world cup. Its easy to find which players played for every country for example Yugoslavia beat Brasil 2:1

So stunning movie really non political and very easy for watching, I recommend you to watch it an I'm sure you will like it if you like football (in USA soccer). Rating in my opinion pure 10.

    Excellent film

I loved this film, but there are some mistakes in it concerning the Brazilian team. In the 30's there were almost no African Brazilians playing football. In fact, the first one was Benedicto, playing for Vasco Da Gama and for the national team that went to Uruguai. My father used to tell his story, adding that after him, black players started being accepted. The Fluminense Football Club had a black player who used to paint his body with white powder so that he could play. It gave the team the nickname of "face powder", which is still used today. The clothes the players use in the film are wrong too. They are Brazilians after all, and not Africans. In spite of these mistakes, and many others, the film is very good and brings about many questions related to the world cup that still prevail...

    Great movie, don't miss it

Can't give it a 10, but movie is great…chance to see what was the football when it was played from love to the game, and to see beginnings of interference of managers and money. Of the topic, mr. Petarmatic, at first i thought the same, wtf Serbian best position when Yugoslavia played, then I read about and saw that only Serbian players played, and Serbia has all the right to be proud of its best position in the World cup. Your comments of the Serbian aggression were not pertinent for this site, and are rather one-sided. Couple hundred thousand of Serbian people was expelled from theirs homes and killed in "Serbian aggression" so please edit your comment and keep commenting the movie only.

    Montevideo

Just watched this movie and have to say it was very good... it reminds me on those good times when you watch old Hollywood movies. p.s. Petar Matic if you say this there was no Serbia at this time because it didn't exist at this time, well guess what there, was no Serbian aggression towards those you mentioned because war broke in Yugoslavia and neither Serbia and others existed at that time, so save us from your nationalistic crap here which gave us those things in the 90-tis.This is movie forum where people from whole world come because of the movies not to listen to your crap that they threw from their countries long time ago. cheers everybody...
