Vendetta

It's a solid mystery, when it first went out, I hadn't read the books, so had no point of reference, I have in the years between read them.

It's a neat adaptation, Sewell is good as Zen, well cast, and does justice to the character.

The story is good, not a great Mystery as such, but it's a good crime drama. It's beautifully shot, great music, and of course the sublime Italian scenery.

What always amused me was how beautiful the cast are, Caterina Murino, Greg Chillin, Was Stoppard, Rufus Sewell, even Zen's mum. It's quite funny.

A decent first episode. 7/10.

This is the only episode I've watched so far and I haven't read the books so had no expectations. It's as good as Montelbano but the casting of the very English Sewell seems to be a huge mistake. Why set a series in Italy with nothing even vaguely Italian about the majority of the cast ?

Parts of this episode are over long and the story is pretty weak overall (again, like Montelbano) but it's an easy watch and the former Bond girl is certainly worth viewing.
