Moe Hashim, Phil Dunster, Toheeb Jimoh, and Cristo Fernández in Ted Lasso (2020)

Review by brads_secret

The Strings That Bind Us

Ted Lasso

10/10

YES

Finally the Ted Lasso that captivated us in Season 1 and the best parts of Season 2. Episode of the season thus far. Like a great novelist, the writing team for Ted Lasso has created moments of hope, wit, love and despair; moments that create emotions which change from scene to scene without (and sometimes with) warning. This episode has the depth that's been prevalent and responsible for one of the largest hit series of the the 21st Century. I gush because I love this show and the characters but I think there is something very profound in what's been created by the Lasso team. Certainly these concepts aren't new but what creates great art in writing is delivering universal sentiments in fresh ways. If you find yourself poo-poo-ing the content because it's tired or uninspired, consider how we got here.
