Hiding In Plain Site

Melissa Mooney was an admin officer who worked for the FBI. A single mother, estranged from her former husband who was said to have been violent towards her, she was found violently murdered in her own home on August 6, 1999. She was obsessively punctual, for which reason or perhaps a sixth sense it took no time at all for her colleagues to find her body. It took considerably longer for her murderer to be brought to book, during which time the authorities went after all the usual suspects: ex-husband - nope; lover - nah; secret married liaison - not him either.

The real killer turned out to be a lot closer to home, and it was not until July 2008 that her neighbour Tyrone Delgado was convicted of her murder. A former military man, Delgado was ostensibly clean, but in reality he had a track record of attacking women under similar circumstances; incredibly in spite of savagely attacking one victim, the charges were dropped.

Delgado was given life without parole. This documentary includes both reconstructions and commentary from people who knew and worked with the victim.
