Far Away Places

Made no sense. Had nothing really to do with the whole plot of the show at all. Jumping around and again was kind of a pointless episode. Those who say it was one of the best episodes are sadly mistaken.

And they'll believe anything Matthew Weiner shows them to be truth, but it's not here, not about LSD...

First off, it takes from 30 to 45 minutes for the trip to kick in... That waiting around time is known to an entire generation who has taken it... You do NOT start tripping one minute after dosing... Yes, Cheech did in UP IN SMOKE but even that was factually wrong... but at least there was a punchline...

Also, an Acid Trip doesn't make things happen that are not happening. It merely intensifies and electrifies everything that's already there but can't be seen or heard or felt without being on the drug. If acid were as shown here, few people would take it twice...

Example, when you listen to The Beatles, who were acid-heads and whose latter music was specifically made for being on acid... their music doesn't pour from an open wine bottle... It's music that you hear things on acid that you don't hear NOT on acid...

Like the song Birthday, right after the "going to a private party" section, during the "I would like you to dance", it sounds and feels like your traveling through space on a rollercoaster ride... But those sounds on the album ARE THERE ALREADY and then you hear them, see them, experience them WHILE ON the drug louder than ever... It REVEALS itself, it doesn't happen if it's not there in the first place...

You DO NOT see yourself playing in the World Series like Roger did... You just don't do that on Acid... Maybe after you fall asleep the next morning while still under its spell...

In fact, the only drug that would make you go through what Roger did is speed, and that's after being awake a couple of days, when your uncapped dreams start catching up and acting out in front of you (at which point you smoke some pot and it gets REALLY weird)...

Other than that, it's an okay episode. Don and his own trophy wife aren't tripping but they visit a Howard Johnsons thats interior looks like a bad trip, and they fight and have anger sex, as usual, but...

This episode is somewhat of a filler. And all the downvoters have never dropped acid or they'd agree with what an entire generation knew and knows, and Mr. Weiner didn't and probably still doesn't...

Stick to Advertising, Matt. When centering on drugs and the drug-culture in general, you are barking up the wrong trip.

I would say this is one of the best episode of the whole season. Don don't really get control on work, trying to win Megan, forcing Megan to like his favorites. Don knew that Megan is his and he thinks that showing off his power will make him win over her innocent and unconditional love. Megan, on the other side likes to be a free bird enjoying Don's love and care.

Beautifully crafted, each and every scene really reflect's Don's passion and his concern for Megan when searching for her. In fact the violence while he return to the apartment, really shows his passion and the way Megan just embracing Don's passion, showing the deep hidden love and how much Don really likes her.

Don's immature things, the way he is confused, his frustration and his mind when he finds that she is back home shows that She is best of everything he had good to him. Like a wise man once said; two hearts living together might not necessarily be able to evaluate other person's virtue and worthiness until they figured out that they are far and lost.

Three storylines that all (ok Peggy's wasn't at the level of Roger but tell me she didn't give her best Don impression) captivate the viewers because there are 5 seasons of development at play. The acting was great across the board with Roger certainly being the most memorable. Definitely one of my favorite episodes!
