Just not my cup of tea

I find it a bit boring is all. It's quite depressing how they give Bender, an amazing character, a plot that makes me not really care about him at all. Not really much of a spoiler: he starts doing country music. Maybe it's just I don't take a liking to country music episodes for whatever reason, I seem to vaguely remember one (or perhaps even more at this point) episodes of the Simpsons involving some character making country music as the plot.

I guess part of it might be it's very unmotivated - Bender has never shown this side of him much. Compared to Bender's well-established life of crime, his romantic side, or even his desire to be a chef, it's somewhat bizzare. Bender being a chef also works due to the humour of him being a robot who can't eat, and his hedonism in his enjoyment of sex and crime which you'd imagine wouldn't match the personality of a robot. But making music seems much more "usual" or "generic" to me in some way.

    Underrated episode

I only wrote this to call the reviewer who thinks this is a rip off of an American Dad episode an idiot. There's been a running gag about Bender wanting to he a folk singer since the 2nd episode back in 1999.

Rip off of American Dad! (6AJN10)

WTF were the writers of this episode in particular thinking?! This is a complete rip off of the American Dad episode "Gorillas in the Mist", particularly the part about only writing music of things that have actually happened to you personally.

Of all things, this was the last thing I'd have expected from Futurama (to rip off an episode from a similar show), but sadly they've stooped down to that level. :(

Closing rap song, "went 187 on his robot ass." West coast rapper's use 187 for 'murder' because section 187 of the California Penal Code defines murder.
    • Goofs
Bender says one plural of octopus is octopi, but it's octopoides, as it comes from a Greek root, not Roman. Octopuses is the most common plural though.
