    Another ridiculous episode

This is another ridiculous episode where common sense and logic doesn't apply. Basically Detective Murdoch solves a murder case in 20 minutes by using nothing but pure imagination. He has no proof, no evidence, no witnesses, nothing but he imagines what happened and conveniently catches the person who initially denies but eventually admits.

It's funny how of the cases in this show are actually solved using actual evidence. 90% of the time, the case is solved by Murdoch having a vision on his head and seeing everything in a vision. He doesn't need evidence, proof, witnesses, logic, common sense or anything. All he needs is his imagination to "solve" all cases within 30 minutes.

    • Trivia
The Chilkoot Pass, where Elizabeth Bryant's husband was killed, is a high mountain pass through the Boundary Ranges of the Coast Mountains in Alaska and British Columbia, Canada and is the highest point along the Chilkoot Trail. During the Klondike/Yukon Gold Rush of the 1890s, it was the most popular route used by prospectors to get through the mountains.
    • Goofs
When Murdoch is in the post office in the Yukon you can see what appears to be a photograph/painting of King Edward VII. This episode takes place in June 1899 and King Edward did not take the throne until 1902.
    • Quotes

      [first lines]

Miner 1: [looks at his watch and chuckles] It's one in the morning! You never get over that, do ya? Still... damn sight better than the winter. What do you think, mister? What do you think's worse: endless day or never-ending night?

Detective William Murdoch: It would depend on your state of mind, I suppose. The day, light can consume your thoughts. The night, thoughts can consume you.
