The Parasite Doctor Suzune Evolution: Positively dire

The Parasite Doctor Suzune Genesis was a pretty poor movie, based upon a semi-popular Manga I really didn't know what to make of it other than me thinking it was bad.

This sequel continues to tell the over-convoluted story of a doctor who is the in middle of world domination plot that involves parasites that give their hosts superior abilities and for some reason an increased sexual appetite.

It's not that the story doesn't flow, it just doesn't make any sense. We have our parasite doctor and her pet frog, we have martial arts fight scenes, we have terrible dialogue and a plot that is just deeply confusing.

The previous movie was bad but it was considerably better than this. Here the plot falls apart further and doesn't even offer the t&a the franchise is known for.

Some bizarre Japanese movies appeal to me and I'm happy to see sequels, this is however most certainly not one of them.

No idea who this will appeal to.

      The Good:

      Some above par fight scenes

      The Bad:

      Baffling plot

      Manages to be quite boring

      Concluding ... thanks

It probably will make more sense reading the Manga of this. Of course many will and can argue that books (even books with pictures) are always in an advantage when it comes to things like this. But there is so much wrong here. Most of which I already stated over at the first part of this "series": Acting, directing and so forth.

One of the things that sort of worked in the first one, was that a couple of jokes actually were acceptable. This has almost no redeeming factor in it. Unless you count nudity, that's a different story. Though this is not a porn movie, if you are after something like that. The lingering on faces, the weak script and everything in here make this a really boring experience, something you normally are not used to, when watching Animes ... There was potential here, but I guess a Parasite corrupted the whole thing ...
