SyFy Being Human

I watch the original British version of Being Human and I was worried that the American version would suck. I've seen a few bits of the SyFy version and it's decent.

I'm going to try to watch the marathon to catch up to see if the whole series is as good as the Brit version.

It looks like the American/Canadian version took the basic premise and created it's own world, which is probably the best way to do it.

One question, on the BBC version, there is a family of vampires that our hero is trying to be free from. Is that a plot line on the SyFy version?
