Cobbled Together And Not By Elves

In this Castle Film from 1945 -- and yes, Castle did occasionally produce a movie -- parents send their two youngsters to bed so they can get the Christmas goodies under the tree. The children are restless, but eventually go to sleep and dream of Santa Claus, who tells them about a toyshop.... and then the audience gets to watch Terrytoon's 1935 YE CHRISTMAS SHOP.

It's all very gemutlich and cheaply produced, but doubtless was a hopeful movie for people to look at in 1945, with the war freshly over and the blessings of peace and normality to come. Whatever they thought that was!
