Had me guessing. Unlike anything I'd seen.

It was a mystery to me and had me trying to figure out what the intention was, which took me over half of the film to get somewhat of a handle.

All the talk of low budget had me wondering if this was the "documentary"/horror, where the clumsiness is actually intended and artful or if it is actually what it seemed to be presenting itself unedited footage with a couple gag like twists tossed in.

All in all I have nothing to compare it to, so no way to evaluate it. It was a lot like watching a friend's art/video project and was fun trying to guess what the story line was.

    We're mugs?

I'll start off with the title.

This title is not only spelled like some kind of pre-pubescent kid, entering his student film into IMDb via a Nokia 6310, but also whilst at it, creating the credits with it as well.

The "clever and witty" title attempts to chuck a meaningful pun-like sly dig at the idiots who:

A> Download this. B> Are in the "British Indie Film Industry". C> Spend hundreds of pounds and even more hours into small budget productions. D> Anyone other than the people who 'star' in this "mockumentary".

When I say attempts, I am actually being quite generous, because what it really is, is someone we've never heard of, speaking of problems within the industry that no-one else experiences apart from him; walking around with his dog and watching his mate drive a car.

The resolute message within this thing is essentially given within the first few minutes of it, two minutes later I had forgot it due to the absolute banal presentation of that message. The vapid space that this product inhabits is a dark and lonely place for the director. A space that any potential independent filmmaker may have experienced in one point of his/her career. The difference being that the director here has a unintelligibly created a mish mash of walking, talking and driving whilst inside that vapid space. Whereas thousands of independent filmmakers around the U.K, strive and work to better their knowledge and understanding of the business of filmmaking, building an audience for the right reasons and slowly chipping away at the business.

To summarise, the message and argument that this product attempts to propose is a very real and plausible point, but miserably and unfortunately falls flat with any basis at all. However, if it tries to antagonise the independent film market, congratulations it will, for all of 1 minute.

Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

    Very clever or very Stupid

Here we see a film that's woven together like a clockwork master mind unwinding into a world of madness! The film only seems to be working hard to alienate the viewer and even more strange it's clear that skills are clearly here. However the film maker deliberately sets out and goes out of his way to show that little skill time or money have been put into this project none of which are needed to release a film. When in fact the opposite is true the film maker has skills but choose to mock the paying viewers and points out that the biggest critics is the free loading file sharer who state films off without ever paying into them often even before the official release of the title. This film is way ahead of it's time and is meant to be a clever warning as to how future LB films will look and be shot with no real investment. File sharing means the producers never see a return (ON THEIR INVESTMENTS INTO FILM). All films will soon be made like this but do not think for one minute that any film released after U Mugs can truly be as controversial or as original. Already U Mugs has been reviewed with the headlines (NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE SO NOTHING TO COMPARE IT TO). How often do you hear that sentence in film today everything as been done fifty times over or more.

Not an interesting movie by any mean and the creators summary is a misrepresentation of what the movie is really about

The movie maybe artistic to Eager Allen Poe fans but we found it to be lengthy.

    and without any real plot.

    Constant babbling

    about nothing and

the movie couldn't touch Paranormal activity 1, 2 or 3

    it doesn't even come close.

In our opinion the cartoon Barney is scarier.

    Please people

stop wasting your time directing movies when you actually lack creative content.

Would have been better if the movie title was

"Bored and doing and saying anything for attention"

This movie gets a thumb down

And we didn't spill the beans are review is a vague as vague can get

    Modern day clockwork orange

Waited until i had a chance to watch the second part to this madcap film. Which is Black Shuck! Joy to behold seen from a view point of a madman played convincing well maybe to convincing. Both films combined do in fact tell an unsettling story. This film and it's counter part are both Modern day presentations of classic works like A Clockwork Orange and the Monty Python series. Both films are in fact meant to offend the very people who watch them very disturbing in parts clever weird odd in others. Pleased to have read on a film making forum that at last this filmmaker has been commissioned to make 2 full feature films so at last he can show his true style and vision

There were no crew members making this film. Paul Easter was everything: director, sound, cinematographer etc. This was meant to be an ironic point to his argument, about how difficult it is to get into the film industry.
