Jordan Cowan in You'll Never Find Me (2023)

You'll Never Find Me

6/10

Suspense the movie, but does it pay off?

This film had great acting, great cinematography and a tantalizing plot, but as much as I wanted to enjoy it, it felt incredibly slow paced. The one location is great, and the fact it's basically only two characters the whole time was great, but every shot is drawn out, in a way that's meant to convey suspense, but it feels unnatural how slow the characters move and talk. The whole movie tries to keep you on the edge of your seat, but after an hour of literally nothing, it hits you with a last half hour that tries to finally bring that suspense to a conclusion, but the ending just doesn't feel satisfying at all and leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth. I wanted so much more from this film, but despite the incredible framing and acting, it falls totally flat in the last ten seconds and does not live up to the expectations you have going in. Not a bad movie, just not that great either.
