Meet self-described petro-sexual motorhead Richard Rawlings and mechanical prodigy Aaron Kaufmann as they search far-flung corners of the country for forgotten and derelict classic cars to restore at their Gas Monkey Garage.

Richard and Aaron find a '55 Chevy Bel Air as well as a 1950 Oldsmobile Coupe Rocket 88, which had been perfectly preserved in a garage for over 50 years. They have 48 hours to fix up a broken-down '73 Caddy convertible for two Aussies hitting Route 66.

Richard and Aaron stumble upon a diamond in the rough: a 1960s Gasser that Richard wants to race. They buy a gleaming '32 Pontiac at a swap meet. And is a friend's 1960 Cadillac Sedan De Ville haunted and cursing the garage?

When the rebuild of a '64 Galaxie goes bad, Richard races to find a suitable replacement for an auction he's already committed to. A '49 F-1 Ford arrives on the car hauler, but getting it off proves to be a big problem.

Richard and Aaron turn the granddaddy of big cars, a 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III, into a muscle car and bring a '68 Ford pickup back to life. Richard scoops up a 1970s style hot rod it car with a mysterious past.

Richard, Aaron, and the Gas monkey crew unbury a '64 Impala buried in 10 years of debris and bring it back to life. A 1951 Bruco Fire Truck sparks former firefighter Richard's fancy as does a 1955 Caddy Coupe de Ville nicknamed Dolly.

The Gas Monkey crew patch together two vehicles to make a Frankensteined '68 Ford F-100 truck. Richard buys a '77 Trans Am Firebird as he relives the days of his youth. He flips a '67 Caddy convertible to a Swedish buyer.

Richard and Aaron purchase a 1959 Rambler Super which has been rotting away in a field for years. Richard has his friend Tom pickup a 1941 Willis Coupe Gasser which could earn him a 6 figure sum if he can prove a link between the vehicle and a famous drag racing team.

Richard and Aaron find a '48 Chevy Fleetmaster at a swap meet. The Gas Monkey crew can't get over how ugly this purple beast looks. Richard picks up a customized '74 Corvette. In Oklahoma, Richard puts the Fleetmaster and a '63 Caddy in front of a tough auction crowd for a "No Reserve" sale.

Richard buys a rare '53 Woodill Wildfire. The Gas Monkey crew have to handle this fragile and flammable fiberglass-bodied sports car with extreme care as Richard expects to make his first six-figure sale. The crew piece together a project Harley motorcycle and they get to some fun down-time watching Richard enter in a Demolition Derby.

Richard and Aaron close a deal on an "ugly" '78 Ford Fairmont that they decide to turn into a chromed drift car. Richard flips a rare '67 Corvette which comes complete with the tank sticker and a customer who wants to buy the shop truck agrees to wager five grand of the asking price in a driving skill test against Richard.

Richard and Aaron pick up a very rare '32 Ford 3-window, but when they get it back to the shop they have a blow up about what they should do with it. Richard gets first option to buy his tattooist's '64 Econoline van for a "Swag Wagon". A donated '89 Shelby pickup leaves Richard in a quandary but Christie comes up with a great idea.

Richard picks up a '59 Chev Apache Shortbed truck in need of some Gas Monkey love. One of the monkey mechanics resigns so he can start his own business leaving Richard one man down at a time when he can't afford it. Richard finds a '64 Lincoln on the old "interweb" and does his shirt on the deal. The Gas Monkeys are invited to the biker build off against Paul Snr, Paul Jnr and Jessie James.

Amongst the biker build off shenanigans, GMG gets a steaming delivery from Jesse James. Richard and Aaron locate a '68 Shelby Mustang GT350 which is full of rust and decide on a quick flip. The Apache truck rebuild misses the auction but Richard has luck with a walk in buyer.
