A Take Back Wall Street Wannabe

I feel guilty, like I'm being so unforgivably generous with a 4 out of 10 rating. Whenever I hear people start bashing on wall street execs as the root of all evil, I know we've strayed into unintelligent hippy-think. Weak minded millennial writers love to jump on that "hate the banker" mentality for no other reason than that they really haven't done any research into the matter, but love to pretend they have and follow the hype.

So here we have our illustrious hero, with an IQ presumably way up there, who naturally hates bankers and naturally considers them the cause of any and all economic woes. Yet he never mentions politicians, or laws that expressly force bankers to make loans to individuals manifestly unable to pay back the loans for no other reason than than they ARE unable to pay them back...and then BLAME the bankers for it... Well, someone with such a lauded IQ would, in the real world, blame the politicians. But this story isn't about reality, intelligence, or common sense.

No thank you. I don't want to assault my brain cells or insult your intelligence by giving this episode anything less than a sub-standard review.

When Joan tells Sherlock about her date's marital answer, he looks up his marital status online at maritalrecords.com. When you look up this site it takes you straight to CBS's website. (Still true in November 2022)

    • Quotes

Sherlock Holmes: It has its costs.

      Dr. Joan Watson: What does?

Sherlock Holmes: Learning to see the puzzle in everything. They're everywhere. Once you start looking, it's impossible to stop. It just so happens that people, with all the deceits and delusions that inform everything they do, tend to be the most fascinating puzzles of all. Of course, they don't always appreciate being seen as such.

Dr. Joan Watson: Seems like a lonely way to live.

Sherlock Holmes: As I said. Has its costs.
