Goofs
The Swede tells the reverend about a song that "the darkies" sing, called "if the river was whiskey". In fact, that song was written and recorded in 1930 by a white musician and singer called Charlie Poole. It HAS, however, been attributed to a host of black bluesmen, none of which was alive during the time period of the construction of the railroad.
