Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver

7/10

Don't believe the hate

Ok, this isn't the best film of the year, but all the criticism is really non sensical.

The film really only lacks one big thing and one big thing only, proper pacing.

If it wasn't paced as slowly as it was, it would surely have had much much better reviews.

Not only does that mean more editing, but also cutting out nonsensical or time consuming scenes, of which there are plenty.

Apart from that I don't think the choice of the lead was a good one. The acting was one dimensional. Yes all hell has broken loose but a good lead would smile, laugh, reminsence, get angry from time to time and not just show just one emotion all the time.

The movie leaves alot of areas that could be explored in other media for sure.

The special and visual effects are absolutely world class. Some of the scenes are true visual poetry or new renaissance. Fantastic in my opinion while others would say he was trying too hard.

Overall, the two movies should have been less than half the run time in total.
