Short but not sweet
Most definitely fun, if you let it though. A sleaze-ball of a film if there is one. There has been a revival (at least at the festival circus) and this movie does ride that wave perfectly. A tough woman that is still very attractive. It might depend on your taste in women I guess and your other "likes", but I'm pretty sure quite a lot of people will feel a "strange" attraction to the main character here.
Just as our "hero" of the movie does. While the female lead might not convince entirely (I thought she looked like she didn't really felt the "moment" or her "character" from time to time), this will not be something that will leave you with a bad impression of the movie. The simple "story" if you want to call it that, is just the backbone for the mayhem and violence that follows. If you like that, you'll be in for a treat, if not don't bother watching.

Somewhat of an acquired taste...
Given the fact that I had the chance to sit down and watch the 2012 Chilean movie "Tráiganme la cabeza de la Mujer Metralleta" (aka "Bring Me the Head of the Machine Gun Woman") and never even having heard about it, of course I found the time to sit down and check out what director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza had to offer.
Initially I was drawn to the movie's cover, given its grindhouse-like presentation, like something you would get from a Robert Rodriguez or Quentin Tarantino.
The storyline failed to entertain me. The narrative just never found a place to hook and sink in, and thus it was a rather boring movie to sit through, especially since a lot of it wasn't always making a whole lot of sense. Writers Ernesto Díaz Espinoza and Fernanda Urrejola must have been playing a tad too much "GTA", because there were a lot of scenes in the movie that were reminiscent of that game, especially the driving scenes. But hey, if you enjoy "GTA", then you should get a kick out of this movie.
Given my very, very limited exposure to the Chilean cinema, of course I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list here. And that is something that I do enjoy when I sit down to watch something. The acting performances in the movie were fair.
My rating of director Ernesto Díaz Espinoza's 2012 movie "Tráiganme la cabeza de la Mujer Metralleta" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

nothing special
Being sold as Latino exploitation I must agree in some parts, you know, the way the credits were done and the scratches on the reel but the flick itself was rather weak.
It's worth seeing if you want to see a Latino dressed in sexy gear and some dancing juggs in a bar but for the rest I didn't like it. It do had some moments that should have been funny and some that are typical exploitation but at the end even as it clocked in at 73 minutes I was happy that it was over. Maybe it's the way that after the credits they entered some funny sentences (clumsy DJ becomes hero) on screen that I thought, no no no don't do that. The story itself is written in 5 seconds and it shows because there's not that much going on. Sure there's action but when one fatty is being killed in a backyard you can see him look towards the crew, Am I doing well?
The flick itself has a great promotion and do pick up awards here and there but for me it was just a mediocre gangster flick.

Okay El Mariachi/Machete Wannabe
Okay low budget Chilean action film that wants to be "Machete" or "El Mariachi" but is nowhere as smart, inventive, or funny. The story follows a dopey video game playing DJ who is given 48 hours to find the titular hit-woman after running afoul a local mobster. The Grand Theft Auto inspired missions and titles are fun, but didn't really add much to the film. I thought this film was trying to be a grindhouse exploitation type of homage, but when it throws in these video game elements with various bosses and such, I wasn't sure if this was the filmmakers focus or if it was just trying to be crazy and outrageous, which would be fine, but the film really didn't seem all that crazy or out of control either. However, I will give the the filmmakers credit for keeping the film short, so it doesn't really overstay it's welcome. Overall it's okay, but don't go out of your way for this one.
Not trashy and juvenile enough. A grindhouse throwback Latinxploitation failure
This B movie from Chile is inspired by 1970's grindhouse films, basically it's a grindhouse throwback modern movie.
If you don't already know, grindhouse films are obscure, ugly looking low budget exploitation junks produced in the 1970's that features offensive violence and even female nudity.
Planet Terror/Death Proof aka Grindhouse (2007) pay tribute to the trashy thrills of grindhouse movies. A bunch of indie imitators then follow, the best of them is Hobo With A Shotgun.
So this movie begin when a deadly lady assassin known as the Machine Gun Woman murder a bunch of random targets, including a ridiculous Chinchinero assassin. This opening is silly and stylish, promising exploitation fun. Yet just after the opening credit end, it already starting to look dull.
The basic plot is about Santiago, a loser who overheard a bounty hit on the infamous lady assassin. After discovered by the mob boss who planned the hit, he offer himself to hunt down the Machine Gun Woman so his life will be spared. He soon only bring bigger trouble to himself.
This movie fail because it's not trashy and grindhouse-y enough with very little action scenes. Santiago is annoying and he's the main character instead of the lady assassin. Mostly it's boring scenes about Santiago driving around Chile questioning people about the assassin. The Machine Gun Woman don't get enough screen time and she barely machine gunning anyone. She ended being a damsel in distress instead with Santiago being a hero.
What I want is basically a revenge flick about the Machine Gun Woman slaughtering everyone. Give me that cheap violent thrill instead of a boring investigation plot.
The movie also feature GTA reference because Santiago is a video game nerd and the director trying to be cool I guess. Every scene when this hero drive around in his car searching for clue, a mission info appear like a task the player must complete.
Forget this one and just watch Planet Terror, Death Proof, Machete 1 & 2 and Hobo With The Shotgun if you haven't yet, for the authentic grindhouse thrills ( Or maybe ignore Death Proof because that movie sux ! ).
