Inside Amy Schumer

"Inside Amy Schumer" is a disappointing venture, missing the mark on delivering sharp, consistent comedy. The sketches often rely on tired stereotypes and predictable punchlines, failing to provide the fresh, edgy humor promised. Schumer's performance lacks the cleverness and nuance needed to elevate the material, resulting in many sketches that feel forced and unoriginal. The show's pacing is erratic, with some segments dragging on too long while others are abruptly cut short. Overall, "Inside Amy Schumer" falls flat, lacking the wit and creativity expected from a standout comedy series. It's a missed opportunity for genuine laughs.

Well, if this show is a representation of what it's like to be "Inside Amy Schumer", then I suggest one bring lube cause it really is bone dry. Not in a Demetri Martin sense of dry, just...dry. I'm no prude, I love a good dirty joke, her show just seems to ONLY rely on that and that alone. Her sketches are about as decent as her stand up, which isn't saying much. There's not really much to say about a show that doesn't have much material other than sex, sex, and more humorless topics concerning, you guessed it... sex. The show basically is promoting slut pride, I mean, to each their own, but if you're going to create a sketch comedy show, maybe touch upon other things besides how incredibly promiscuous you are?

They just started repairing it on Comedy Central and I thought I'd give a shot while working. I already had a pre-existing idea of Amy Schumer not being funny from her stand up, and this isn't changing my opinion of her comedy. This sketch comedy show is very bland and seems to be trying to force jokes out with randomness and sexual humor. There doesn't seem to really be a punchline out of those two options for the show. It structures itself like an episode of Robot Chicken, but it tries to keep itself in a semi-reality form where the jokes all revolve around her trying too hard to be funny and jokes about her love live that doesn't seem to do anything.

I tried to watch it, I really did. She is not funny at all This show is droll, un-creative and un-imaginative. Apparently she thinks that verbally abusing a child and making thinly veiled political statements will make folks laugh. Spoiler alert: it will not. Much like Sarah Silverman, Amy's attempts at shocking humor fall well short. I don't think she has had an original thought in years. I seriously feel like Amy has passed her prime and all she can do is regurgitate tired rhetoric. She has built a brand around being offensive and continues to push the "dumb blond" stereotype. Advise? Try and think of something that is actually funny.

I often wonder how much 'professional' critics get paid as Schumer seems to have a few too many positive reviews. I can understand some liking her, we are all different, but the media coverage and the sheer number of positive coverage seems somewhat odd.

Shocking and puerile seems to be her go-to with the same 'joke' repeated again and again (and again). Difficult to understand why she has had the leg up from the media to such an extent.

Garbage and a real step back to some of the great female comediennes. I guess between Schumer and McCarthy the future of female comedienne role models is down the toilet.
