Why are the writers ramping everything down?!

Literally every aspect that has made Dexter a great show in the past is missing here.

    • No manhunt
    • No threats to Dexter being exposed
    • No kills
    • No thrills
    • No development of rivalry between Dexter and the main season villain

I'll simply never understand why the writers decided that the second half of the final season of Dexter should be where they ramp everything down. This should have been where all the stops were pulled. This should have been where Dexter faces his biggest threats ever from both the main season villain and Miami Metro Police.

Instead we get a full hour of Dexter calmly lamenting on his decision to leave Miami. I sincerely have absolutely no idea what the writers were going for at this point.

    blond and fabulous

I was hoping dexter would go out with a bang, but it's not. I've been trying to overlook the weak parts, but hannah is supposed to be a fugitive and she's going around all absolutely fabulous. Please, some mousy brown hair, glasses and baggy clothes. A quick trip to target is all it would've taken. This is so obvious, i can't let it go.

    Good

Saxon asks Vogel to rehabilitate him as she helped Dexter. Dexter gives Batista his notice and tells Debra he's moving to Argentina with Hannah and Harrison. Clayton suspicious that Dexter is leaving Miami to be with Hannah. Debra returns to Miami Metro and rekindles her relationship with Quinn, who has broken up with Jamie. Despite her desire to help Saxon, Vogel decides to betray him after watching the video of Zach's murder. After a treadmill accident, Hannah takes Harrison to the ER, but a nurse recognizes her and puts Clayton on her trail. Vogel brings Saxon to her home, but her nervousness makes him suspicious. When Dexter arrives, Saxon murders Vogel and escapes.

    Goodbye Dexter

    Dexter use to be fun.

A kind of release from the mundane dramas all around us, but now it's overfilled with tiresome dialog and drivel that bores its fan base into tearing drones. Vogel was such a boring character and now gone, flush another episode away. Only two left and my sense is it will not end to the satisfaction of its fan base of the previous 7 Seasons.

It better culminate with something special like a "Dirty Harry" revenge statement, "Do you feel lucky, asshole?" as Dexter stabs Oliver Saxon into his chest, gushing blood everywhere, then propelling him over the side of his boat and into Biscayne Bay.

So far it's too milquetoast for Dexter.

And beautiful Hannah, how boring her dialog has been for such a potentially dynamic character as the asinine manhunt and Deb's confusion and extreme pain from Dexter's obvious rejection of her opinions, leave us wanting for more.

Unfortunately, the end will leave us hanging, if it doesn't get any better than this….. Goodbye Dexter!

    • Trivia
When Dexter is setting up his kill room and Harry says "It's been a long time since we've been in here." and Dexter replies "Choir director." This could possibly be a reference to Dexter's first on screen victim in the pilot episode.
    • Goofs
The authorities are looking for Hannah, but she doesn't dye her hair or change her appearance in any way, nor are the Morgans shown suggesting she do so.
    • Quotes

Dexter Morgan: So how do you feel about us leaving?

Debra Morgan: Scared. My whole family's moving.

      Dexter Morgan: Scared?

Debra Morgan: You've always been there. I don't know what my life looks like without you.

Dexter Morgan: Well, maybe it looks better.

Debra Morgan: Really? Hanging out with two serial killers. Does it get better than that?

Dexter Morgan: So you see my point.
