Not as bad as some would have you believe
Ok, so we've all seen similar plots before, and this isn't gonna win any awards for originality, but i think some of the reviews on here are WAY too harsh, possibly written by people with some kind of personal agenda(don't like the director or the lead actress maybe) but this was no where near as bad as some reviewers are making it out to be, it's very much a popcorn and switch your brain off kind of movie, but i wouldn't put too much stock in the 1/10 reviews if i were you.
Pity the Poor Actors
Because I'm very kind by nature, I'm not going to mention any of the actors in this turkey by name. They suffered enough while making it: stumbling around in the dark, running, and speaking dialog that is unrelated to human speech.
Sony Pictures sat on this for right at three years before giving it a one night very limited release. That should tell you something.
If you want to watch a home invasion movie that has real suspense I'd suggest YOU'RE NEXT. The title of this epic tells us to keep watching, but I'll confess to using the fast forward button more than once. It should have been called WATCH SOMETHING ELSE.

Great idea, poorly done.
The idea behind the film from beginning to end could have made a great movie. However, they wrote the characters to be complete morons. From beginning to end they were constantly doing the wrong thing. It didn't help that the two younger actors were either directed poorly or just couldn't portray the fear and sadness they would have been experiencing so they sat around and looked depressed instead.
Shortcomings and unanswered questions
I thought it could give much more, but unfortunately it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Actually, it might be an interesting choice among home invasion movies, but it has many shortcomings. It's not self-explanatory. The acting seems to be at a low level. The plot is not impressive. An interesting start but no sequel. It had to be smarter, better quality and scarier. They had the materials to do this. Most of the film takes place in darkness and is shown from some camera angles. Supposedly people see what's happening on the internet. If it's being published, why isn't anyone doing anything to help? Why don't they have a scene? Does no one live where they live? Some questions remain in the air. It will not satisfy those who love the genre.
