Average Thriller
Wow where to start. M Night seems to have lost the plot. In the same league as John Woo. The older they get, their movie has lost its magic.
This movie would have been awesome if you did not know that Mr Hartnett is the villain. So you'd be in the disposition as the daughter. Bewildered by all the antics of her dad, getting weirder and weirder by the minute. Unfortunately the twist was already given away in the movie trailer. So you ended up waiting to see what he will do next.
No tension, No surprises whatsoever. I find it dull. You will feel it as the movie crosses the one hour mark. And oh no, it does not end there. The movie goes on to another elaborate plot.
While the little girl and Josh stole the show, the other actors seems to be mediocre. Especially the profiler, she seems to be in a Shakespearean theatre. Her accent and delivery is too stagey.
