Though he stays toward the rear, partly due to his Uncle Jasper's pleading, Henry VII is shown actively fighting his Yorkist enemies at the Battle of Bosworth Field. Every account of this battle states that Henry stayed completely in the rear, well away from actual fighting and possibly protected by a phalanx of his spear-men, and took no active part in the battle.
