This should have been about a 60 minute film. The first half especially, every scene is dragged out painfully long as not much happens. They try to spend the time introducing the characters and their situation. That doesn't take an hour. It then picks up a little but only a little.
The worst part of this movie that totally ruined it for me is 3 major separate unrelated incidents (over the course of last 40 minutes) that take place that are totally preposterous and would not have happened in real life. So everything that resulted from those made no sense & made this movie make no sense.
Mayumi Sakurai who plays Madoka gave a very mediocre performance. She's better known for later having a career as an adult video actress. Ozawa Kazuyoshi who plays Matsuo the kidnapper was actually good but unfortunately too little to save this turkey.
NOTE: As a professional musician, producer & recording engineer it bothered me especially with one movie detail. He puts up cardboard egg crates on the apartment walls to insulate the sound. That does not work. It will effect & treat the sound inside his apartment but it will do nothing to keep sounds from passing thru. Acoustic treatment, not sound proofing.
There is a little nudity & softcore sex in the second half. Nothing erotic or exciting but usually a part of the story.
There was maybe 15 minutes worth watching out of a 105 minute film. Better to just skip this movie entirely.
