Chappy's

Some of these Kitchen Nightmare shows feel like it was intended as a dishonest con for free publicity. The owners and chefs are just lowlife characters who are running their business into the ground.

They have no intention of changing anything, becuase it is cheaper for them to just close up and move than it is to change their bad practices and build up a good reputation. In many cases, after Ramsay has remodeled their restuarants, and put in new kitchen equipment, the owners cash in on the free help and sell the restaurant.

Chappy talked trash about Ramsay, and said that nobody like the new decor. Chappy also returned to his old menu. Chappy's closed shortly after this episode was filmed because the restaurant was seized by the state due to non payment of taxes.

Chappy acted like a very arrogant jerk during the episode. His kitchen and refrigerators were filthy, anda lot of the food was spoiled and beyond rancid. I think it is a shame that Ramsay stayed to help this guy. He was a pig.

It would have been nice if Ramsay had walked out of a few of these restaurants were the owners and chefs were running horrible restaurants that endangered the health of the customers. Ramsay could have put together a few episodes that focused on getting the health department to close down filthy restaurants.
