If you like the first "A Haunted House" movie, then you will also like this one, because it is initially the same kind of spoofy comedy in a genre that just won't die.
The comedy is fast paced and right up to par with the comedy seen in the first movie. And Marlon Wayans do pull it off nicely enough. While this is a comedy, it is not the kind that will have you bursting out in laughter while tears trickle down your cheeks. I think I only laughed once actually. But that being said, the movie isn't bad, nor is it boring. The comedy is good and serves the movie right. The comedy here is the type that will brighten up your mood and put a smile on your face.
Similar to the first movie, an entity is haunting Malcolm and making his life a living hell, especially when no one believes him as things escalate out of control.
I enjoy these spoof movies and always have, and this one is one of the better ones, especially because it is making fun of the ghost and horror genres of movies.
Like the first movie, I am rating "A Haunted House 2" a 6 out of 10 stars.

This is such a misunderstood film. I found it to be really funny. I can see why a lot of people do not get the humor in this film but for the people that does you will find a lot of laughs... especially Marlon's solo work with just the doll in the scenes... for example the argument that he gets into with the doll is really funny because it is so real... it is the exact same argument and the same stages of an argument that most men and women have been through. I do not understand how so many people call this film unwatchable... I know that my sense of humor is dark and I find a lot of things funny that your average person does not but I love scary movie 1 and 2 , love films like superbad or spaceballs... and I can see that this film isnt a classic like those but it still has some very funny material and I respect Marlon as a comedian more and more with every film of his I see.
Typical wayans spoof movie... best to watch with some alc..... but always enjoyable
It's easy to understand the mixed feelings and harsh reviews. This is no Driving Miss Daisy. You are in Wayans World and if you don't know what that means, you probably don't belong there.
Surpassing the ridiculous to almost the sublime, in moments. Expect boat loads of bodily functions, indescribable scenes of coarse silliness and at least 2 ways to kill a dog. Oh, and a set piece 'cock fight' (no spoilers).
More than just a series of gags, there is effort on display from all involved. Wayans screeches and mugs to the camera while we explore race issues and flatuence.
Your enjoyment or repulsion will depend entirely on your expectations. If you like the Wayans brand, it's far from the worst. It's no 'Don't be a menace...' or an early Scary Movie; still, a riot which hits the target. Bullseye it is not.
I give it 5.3 farts out of a soiling.

There's no doubt the Wayans are funny. Marlon Wayans does a great job carrying this hard-driving sequel. In a similar style as Jim Varney narrating the Ernest films, breaking the fourth wall, the entire then -current crop of horror films (Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, Annabelle) are lampooned to infinity to mostly good results. The cast does fine, and Gabriel Inglasias and Cedric the Entertainer ads strong comedic support. Largely, however, this is a one man show. This is far-out, "wow, did he really go that far?" type of humor that's falling out of favor in the woke era. Happily, the results are pretty good, but the show runs out of steam (and ideas) before the credits roll. It's a pretty good time, with expectations in check.

- TriviaPierre Daniel, who had a brief role in the film sued Marlon Wayans for racial harassment. This was after Wayans posted a side by side photo comparing him to Cleveland Brown from Family Guy (1999). The case was thrown out after the judge pointed out Daniel does in fact look like Cleveland Brown.
- Goofs(at around 51 mins) When Malcolm is trying to tell Megan and her kids about the ghosts and demon possessions, Becky is shown recording him with her cell phone. When the camera is in front of Megan you see the cell phone. But when the camera angle changes to looking over her shoulder at Malcolm, the cell phone disappears.
