- Clayton Danvers: [on cellphone] What have you got?
- Elena Michaels: Well, the mystery girl's with Cain. I just found their love nest... an RV off the 275.
- Clayton Danvers: Any trouble?
- Elena Michaels: No. All her stuff's still here. I think I'll just sit on it and hope that she comes back. Maybe she'll lead us to where the mutts are hiding.
- Clayton Danvers: Okay. You remember the deal.
- Elena Michaels: I'll call. I'm not interested in taking them on by myself.
- Elena Michaels: [sarcastic] Oh, I'm sorry that I don't follow your orders.
- Clayton Danvers: I'm trying to protect you.
- Elena Michaels: Where was that attitude four years ago?
- Clayton Danvers: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
- Elena Michaels: I talked to Cain's girlfriend, Amber. She knows about us... about the werewolves. That's who he's protecting, not the rest of the mutts.
- Clayton Danvers: She knows... and you let her go?
- Elena Michaels: [shakes head] You're not listening to me.
- [sighs]
- Elena Michaels: Cain fell in love with a girl, so much so that he told her who he really was. He trusted her, and she accepted it.
- Clayton Danvers: Then she has to die.
- Elena Michaels: Don't you see?
- [tearfully:]
- Elena Michaels: No matter how much she asked him to bite her, he can't do it because he's afraid of losing her.
- [the accusation hits home with Clay]
- Elena Michaels: He won't take that chance. He won't risk her life.
- [voice breaking:]

- [goes off, leaving her uncertain]

- Elena Michaels: [stressed out] I don't know if I can do any more funerals.
