Ashanti in Christmas in the City (2013)

Goofs

Christmas in the City

Edit

Continuity

In one scene, Tom is in his office in a red shirt with black tie. A following scene has him sitting at the piano in a red shirt and silver tie.

Factual errors

Buying trees does not hurt the environment.

Revealing mistakes

When Tom Wolman sees the fax machine printing out a contract between Teanna Musk and the potential new Wolman Department Store backer, it comes out of the machine already crumpled. If there was a an issue with the fax machine and it was crumpling paper as it printed, the text would be blurred or illegible, as-is, the text is perfectly printed. Tom goes on to crumple the paper in disgust, suggesting that the same paper was used for multiple takes.

Miscellaneous

Teanna states several times that she was hired "to raise sales". The sales figures would not be effected by the elimination of the day care or the staff bonuses.
Macy's department signs can be seen on the interior walls when Wendy walks into the store for the first time at the beginning of the movie.

Plot holes

When Teanna does a background check on Wendy, she notes that all of the ownership to her late father's store is in Wendy' name. However, Wendy's mother is able to complete a sale of the store without knowledge.
With everyone deeply displeased with Teanna's cost-cutting measures (axing Christmas bonuses, and day care for working employees and busy customers), it's a wonder that at least Tom doesn't at some point question who's footing the bill for Teanna's bottles of champagne.
