Dreadful
I know so many good actors and writers and even directors who can't seem to catch a break. Yet this drivel somehow sailed through the approval process from script to casting to director to edit, and some brainless entity funded it! Funded it with money that could have gone to an intelligent script with good actors and a competent director. Oh, and can't forget the stilted stunt choreography and Stunt Fighting 101 execution. How did so many people agree to be involved in this? So depressing!
Completely agree with another review that theorized this was a community theater production. Or if 48 hr Film Festival had a feature length category. Or it's a nepo project. I plan to note the director and avoid future projects. The lead was wooden, the female agents woefully miscast (section chief in particular, oy). The 'daughter' wasn't bad tho hard to say if it didn't seem so by comparison. I'd say it was an embarrassing outing for Jon Voight but between his projects and politics, his cup overfloweth.
All in all, it distracted us through the boom booms of fireworks, but we agreed we were embarrassed we stuck through it and vowed to not admit that to anyone we know.
