Bishop, really a serious replacement for Ziva?!

What a horrible character and actress. Bishop can't act. She has one expression for every situation. Her character is even worse. She acts like a middle school kid not a professional working for a government agency. Sitting cross-legged on a desk or floor where visitors past going to the NCIS Director's office. Really? She can't follow orders or listen to good advice from agents with years of experience. And a really unbelievable character. She weights maybe 100lbs soaking wet and later in the series, she knocks out a 250lb SF-type guy with one punch. The Gibbs of years past would have put her on the road and never considered her. My question is, who's daughter or girl friend is she. Or who lost the bet. The other question is, is she really the best actress they could find. I've seen all of the NCIS seasons a couple of times and know she stays on the show for five years. Going through the series again already looking forward to her leaving.

If it wasn't for her, this show would be pretty good. Luckily, the other characters can barely overcome her character.

    Go, Bishop!

I love Bishop! What a great character. NCIS's strength is its character work, and Bishop is a geek like McGee, an eccentric like Abby, and a professional like all of the team, but all in all, an individual

Now i remember why i stopped watching new episodes...

Bishop. I have been binge watching NCIS from the beginning, and yep... Bishop. She wouldbe ok as a guest of the week or a quirky background occasional character. She is grating.... and i remember losing interest in the show because of her.

I'll probably be fast forwarding or skipping episodes going further with the binging to current.

    The Ellie Bishop show

First let me back up a few episodes.

Ziva was a pillar for this show. Kate was fun, but Tony's childish interplay with her got old fast. Ziva came in and immediately changed the dynamic while keeping the banter and lighthearted interplay. She added a new dynamic by going deeper emotionally with her relationships, especially to Tony. For a few seasons, so much of the appeal for this show was Ziva. Then they stepped away a bit from that dynamic, and then had her turn introspective about her past and sent her back on the road to being a spook. An invisible one.

Ellie Bishop's debut on the scene is big. I am surprised at how many people hate her and the actor Emily Wickersham. I grew a crush on her almost immediately. I failed to really notice and dwell on the dynamic that was dropping out of the show even if it would take a few more years for Tony to leave. There would be no BishNozo. It was always Tiva. It is a new day for NCIS in many respects.

Bishop belongs with this group of quirky detectives. She even knows her movie trivia. This episode really explores her personality as much as one episode can but keeps the drama over the security breach going.

Maybe Wickersham is not as polished an actor as her predecessor. Seems like she only has manic and sad, at least so far. But I am more than willing to renew my acquaintance with her despite remembering some far future plot threads I can do without.
