Simple and Beautiful
Simple and touching storyline, all elements and aspects in this movie executed brilliantly. Love, struggle, sadness, and also a feeling of warmth can also be felt from my side as a film audience. The story revolves around the issue of sandwich generation, It becomes a dilemma from many sides, whether family is a responsibility or a burden. This film teaches that no one in the family should feel indebted "berhutang". Sacrifice and sincerity must coexist within a family.
The acting from the cast, became one of the aspect of this film's success. Breath taking but simple cinematography. Beautiful soundtrack, many of which are taken from songs written by Sal Priadi.

Sandwich Generation is Real
Another movie that showing sandwich generation, especially in Indonesia, is real. Just like another movie "Home Sweet Loan", describe how young generation must sacrifice their time and opportunity, to make a better life for others, without any choice. This is also a kind reminder, that having a big family, will come with big responsibility, and many are not well prepared for what comes next in life.
Very inspiring
This film teaches how beautiful family is in our lives. Likewise, no matter how difficult the conditions are Family is the place for us to return to, as well as Moko who had to make sacrifices for his younger siblings where he gave up everything His ambition is to study for a Masters in Melbourne, and Moko continues to struggle to make a living. His younger siblings because he thinks they are a priority, and I conclude that No matter how difficult the conditions are, you cannot live without family. Love for your family, your family is your home. Keep spirit FAMILY WARRIOR. You can live because of them, and family is everything.
Nice for all
Yandy Laurens it's the best director, i think he writte a story with heart and him feelings. Such as from a technical perspective, cinematography, directing the actors optimally so as to produce a good storyline. And then in giving the image colors that tend to be natural without using a lot of filters so that I can feel the aesthetic that Yandy wants to give. In essence, the technical matters in this film it's good enough, but I think Freya's role as Nina in this film still has shortcomings. She is a new actress in film, so the emotions she plays still feel a little fake and stiff. Good film.
A Chaos Wrapped in Warmth
1 Kakak 7 Ponakan is a family comedy that successfully blends laughter, warmth, and chaos into one delightful package. The story is simple yet relatable: a brother suddenly finds himself in charge of his seven nieces and nephews, each with their own quirks, mischief, and innocence. From start to finish, the film delivers plenty of humorous situations that resonate with real-life family dynamics.
The strongest aspect of this movie lies in the chemistry between the cast. The older brother's acting feels authentic, showing a mix of exhaustion, affection, and frustration that audiences can easily empathize with. Meanwhile, each of the seven children has a distinct personality that often clashes, resulting in funny and unpredictable moments. The comedic timing feels fresh and natural, making it easy for viewers to laugh along.
Beyond the humor, the film also carries a touching message about responsibility, patience, and the importance of family bonds. Without being overly preachy, it subtly reminds audiences that while taking care of loved ones can be overwhelming, it can also bring irreplaceable joy.
On the downside, some jokes feel repetitive and forced, which slightly reduces the comedic impact in the middle part of the movie. The pacing can also feel a bit unfocused, with too many small subplots that sometimes distract from the main storyline. Nevertheless, the charm of the characters and their interactions keeps the film engaging.
Visually, the movie uses bright and colorful cinematography, reflecting the lively and cheerful atmosphere of a household full of children. The soundtrack, though simple, complements the lighthearted tone of the story. The editing is mostly smooth, though a few transitions appear rushed.
Overall, 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan is a fun watch for families or anyone seeking lighthearted entertainment. It may not be groundbreaking, but it delivers what it promises: laughter and warmth wrapped in family chaos. A rating of 7/10 feels just right - entertaining, enjoyable, and heartfelt, even if not entirely flawless.
