What a pleasant surprise Luke Genton's "Jabberjaw" was. Here I was perusing the Found TV app, wanting to watch something 'fun', and lo & behold, the #1 trending film on the site was - yep, "Jabberjaw". The title immediately made me think of the 70's cartoon Jabberjaw, and I had to wonder, are the two connected? Thankfully, they are not. Turns out this title is cleverly explained in the film - tying together some of the events that transpire - although you're not aware of that at the time.
It was a Sunday night, I had a headache, and I didn't want to have to overthink my viewing choice.
And then... Jabberjaw. Almost immediately, I sensed a very strong bond between the two female leads (Alexis Ingram, Olivia Khoshatefeh). Their friendship plays out on screen very realistically, and they're a lot of fun together, even when discussing the serious stuff. Great chemistry between the ladies.
The explanation for the non stop filming made total sense, and the beautiful wooded locale provides plenty of atmosphere for the scares generated, both day and night.
Some unsettling sequences here to be found. Proving that old adage less is more to be very true.
Not going to say nothing more about the plot - check out the awesome "Jabberjaw" for yourself - and have a blast (while hiding your eyes!)
