The previous episode was cool. I'm slowly liking this series. But just seeing Bjorn, his dad and his mom together, and his uncle fighting together was cool. Even "Uncle" floki! This episode is actually making me a fan because so many gatherings and interactions.
This episode feels like a direct emotional response to the previous one. The title says it all: blood for blood. Ragnar makes it clear that he cannot remain passive, and his reaction is bold, even if it comes at a high cost.
Athelstan becomes a key figure in this season. His internal struggle between Christianity and Viking culture starts to consume him, and it's reflected in his choices and how others see him. He's becoming one of the show's most layered characters.
Floki, too, is beginning to shift. There are subtle gestures, words, and glances that hint at growing discomfort with where things are heading. His loyalty seems uncertain, adding suspense to future developments.
The episode balances emotional depth with strategic tension. While not as action-heavy, it stays engaging and feels like a necessary step in the story's evolution. I'd give it an 8, for keeping the focus on character tension and political movement without losing momentum.

Ragnar, Bjorn and two men go to Kattegat to destroy the winter supplies to Jarl Borg to force him to leave the village. Then Lagherta and Bjorn and their men join forces with Ragnar, Rollo and their men and together they defeat Jarl Borg that flees. Meanwhile King Ecbert protects Athelston to learn the pagan culture and beliefs. Ragnar wants to stay with Auslag and Lagherta since he loves both women but Lagherta decides to come back to her husband. Now Bjorn must make another choice.
"Answers in Blood" is another great episode of "Vikings". Unfortunately Jarl Borg survives and now there are many issues in the story. What will happen to Athelston and his religious beliefs is maybe the most important question. How will King Horit and his son survive in an enemy territory? When will Lagherta return to the show? My vote is eight.

- GoofsAthelstan is often seen wearing a rosary around his waist while in the service of King Ecbert. This devotion's earliest form only started in the mid 12th century and would have not been known to Athelstan.
