Outlanders continues its slow but fun first season with its 3rd episode, some of it was boring like the whole priest story but overall good episode

    • Trivia
During the evening just as Claire and Jamie are leaving the dining hall, Garryowen (Garry Owen) is performed. It was an 18th century drinking song that later became popular in the British Army through the 5th Regiment of Dragoons. Later it became the marching tune for the American 7th Cavalry Regiment when Gen. George Armstrong Custer was in charge. Lyrics later added to the tune: "We can dare or we can do United men and brothers too Their gallant footsteps to pursue And change our country's story."
    • Goofs
When Claire asks Jaime if the monks were from Germany he looks puzzled and she clarifies by saying 'Prussia'. While a unified German state did not exist until the late 19th century, the term 'Germany' was used to refer to the region in the English speaking world of the 18th century. Jaime would have understood where Claire was talking about.
    • Quotes

Murtagh Fraser: Hey, if you're teasing the lad about Laoghaire, if her father or Colum comes to know about it, young Jamie could get more than a bloodied nose.

      Claire Randall: Like a wife?

Murtagh Fraser: Maybe. That's not the wife he should have.

      Claire Randall: No?

Murtagh Fraser: No. He needs a woman, not a lassie. And Laoghaire will be a girl until she's fifty. I've been around long enough to ken the difference very well. And so do you, mistress.
