Of course, it depends what your expectations were.
This is not the entry point for newbies. If you have heard about this series from a friend and want to try it, start at the beginning. You will thank me later.
If you are a fan-fan, you expected the start of the third year to carefully throw a bunch of plot arcs into the air (like spinning plates) against a backdrop of drama, action, suspense, great characters and great acting.
You will not be disappointed. The characters are not only evolving but (the hallmark of a great series) by now they feel like family. A dysfunctional family but still family.
The number of illegal and homicidal and larcenous things going on in Banshee is extraordinary. The "native American" terror cell story arc alone is enough to set relations with that group back 200 years. But this is what we have come to expect from one of the most outrageous shows on the air -- the one show that, since the days of Buffy and Angel, is most often associated with the phrase "guilty pleasure." I especially love (the trademark of the series in my view) the way the episode starts slow and builds and builds and builds. Ending with the return of Nola (played by the striking Odette Anabell) who is not only my favorite character in the series but also the deadliest.
And in this series there are so many deadly characters to pick from, it is actually hard to choose.
