To protect the Shelby name

Decent episode, good storyline and character development and an surprise ending. The spiral of Arthur and Tommy's ambitions are quite interesting to watch.

Trivia
Field Marshal Henry Russell is probably inspired by the assassination of Sir Henry Wilson. Wilson was a British army field marshal turned MP and security advisor to the Northern Ireland government. He was assassinated in London in June 1922. Two Anti-Treaty IRA men were subsequently arrested and hanged.

Goofs
When Thomas makes his speech about selling alcohol to the rich people of [North] America, he mentions New York, Boston and Toronto. Of course, Toronto is the actual biggest city in Canada, but this was not the case in the 1920s. In that time, Thomas would have mentioned Montréal. This was indeed the place to be. So much so, that it was where the Bronfmans (Seagram), who were also starting their alcohol business at the same moment, established themselves.
