    Amazing start

Great dialogue esp between Mongville and Axcelle with lots of space in the conversations. Also the use of music lends to depiction of emotions which feel real. Nothing is rushed. A bit Noirish in a good way. Humor is gentle and moves plot forward. The sense of the characters interior world is exposed in way the real people do. The episodes with Ms. Moute are the best. My wife and I go back to see those again and again. This series could of gone on as a great series like Morse and Lewis as well as the few other standouts in the detective genre.

Poor transition to her replacement where the series becomes more common place, but still watchable, but not so cinematic.
