Blood Sombrero

An entertaining, raunchy, old skool cult style horror flick. Good characters, effects, comedy & storyline. 10 of 10 stars.

Nearly nonsensical and almost entirely ADR, but still kind of entertaining for just how stupid it is while still genuinely trying to be an actual movie.

We've got two (three?) entirely separate supernatural occurrences going after each other, a bunch of low-budget fight scenes filmed in public parks filled with ridiculous blood splatters, an 80s synth soundtrack, incredibly poorly-made greenscreen driving scenes, a major character inexplicably wearing a bumblebee costume for the entirety of the movie, and a main(ish?) character in a gut-restricting girdle that seems to not even tangentially understand the plot of the movie he's in - partially because he's taking advice from a Edwardian ghost that doesn't actually seem to exist outside his head.

Like, it's not a good movie. Let's be clear on that. But it manages to be so stupid that you can never really focus on how any individual aspect is bad, and it winds up being pretty fun.

Cool action movie by Abel Berry & Jennifer Stone that started out as a low budget project on indiegogo and made it into stores rather quickly. It's the type of movie that would come off like a Quentin Tarantino movie if it had a big budget, but since it doesn't it seems more fun than that. The director did indeed have fun with it too throwing in some strange things into the mix, like a guy with an imaginary friend, Mexican ninjas, a golden chainsaw wielding mobster, and some other classic elements. It may seem really strange and campy at times but that just adds to this low budget action massacre. The body count is high and so is the humor. I like the homage to "El Mariachi" when the rock star thief calls his friends to 'get the band back together'. Great film!

I can't say much about this shocker of a B grade flick, except that it was exceptionally bad in every department of it's production. Another thing to say is that it took time out of my life, don't let it do the same to you. 1 star
